INTERCITY HALTS First Prize - Louis Mongan Award Castlebar Second Prize Carrick-on-Shannon Third Prize Roscommon Most Improved Roscrea The people of Roscrea will feel so much better knowing they now enjoy "InterCity" status. Im sure theyll all be rushing down to the station to make use of their single railcar making its two daily return trips up and down a 40MPH line. ![]() |

![]() Roscrea always was intercity, plently of time to do the hanging baskets.
Thats said passenger numbers are not bad, miles better than Limerick Waterford Athlone won the big prize, didn't look great when I was through recently |

![]() Athlone could be much improved if Bus Eireann gave up some of the vast empty space opposite the station for use as a car park. It wouldn't stop the station staff using the disabled spaces, but hey, we can't have everything.
