Default Enterprise Sunday 14 June

I was picking some passengers from the Sligo train yesterday at noon. There was a very lengthy queue even then for the 1300 Enterprise. This was well handled at Connolly as the Enterprise waiting area was opened up at 1200. Passengers were still arriving in substantial numbers as I was leaving so, in speaking to an IE official, there was a suggestion that an additional train may be necessary given the numbers arriving. Exit validation was in full swing and the improved passenger facilities seemed to work well. The station was very crowded and it was the right decision to clear the queue. More and more at Connolly the practice seems to be to open the gate as soon as the train is available for boarding. The station seems well managed and modern in layout and appearance.

The current set of alterations do help it a lot. Re-doing the floor tiles (less than 10 years old, but they had suffered a lot), bringing the information desk to a more obvious location and getting rid of the pokey toilets helps.

There are some more changes to come and they need to finish off some of the alterations they have done.

Presumably because IE didn't have a train that could go to Belfast?

The weekend timetable doesn't make sense, especially in summer.

All Enterprise trains are now running 7 carriages instead of 8, so there's less capacity than last year.

Any hope of an hourly timetable in the distant future?

I've noticed that the when I've got the Enterprise in the last few days there was the full set of 5 standard class carriages, whereas there had often only been 4 in recent weeks.
