Default [22-10-2010] 09:10 M3 Parkway-Docklands 22000-operated

Am on the 09:10 departure to docklands is a 3 coach 22k set.

The extra stops also seem to be having a positive effect

Waited for the 12.26 at Ashtown today (as per the bank holiday timetable).

No sign of it by 12.43. No announcement, as usual.

Another €20 for a taxi on top of the annual commuter ticket.

Fuming.

Unless the 12.05 from M3 didn’t stop at Ashtown, but if that is the case it must have passed through well before 12.26.

There was a huge number of people waiting on the platform.

Sorry. I don't understand exactly what you mean.

Also, the live information feature on the Irish Rail website was showing the train arriving at Ashtown on time.

Then when I checked it again after 12.26, it said the next train was an hour later. So it doesn't reflect "real" time.

It seems completely worthless.

The live system isn't live west of Drumcondra, its in the disclaimer on the page

We have seen occasions where the system says a train was ontime yet was cancelled, in this case the system has a record of a train arriving in Dublin Connolly but no train actually ran

It sounds like Alice in Wonderland.

So, there's no way to check if a train is actually going to turn up?

whats the deal with using inter city trains on commuter routes, the m3 parkway train to docklands train every morning is jammed, no room to move, no room even to get on or off, come on irish rail sort it out.

i've always said it, those intercity railcars are not suited to crammed commuter services, too narrow! not enough standing space as the 29k.

On a side note, how are numbers using it from Dunboyne/m3 especially since the changes to the 70 route.

not sure, i get on at ashtown and its full at that stage. you have to run the length of the platform to get on cause the doors are are at each end of the carriage and as you say narrow asiles and trying to get on and off its hard work.

obviously they haven't enough of the commuter trains to go around, but anytime i go through Connolly loads of of them just stationed up

If I recall correctly that's one of the reasons NIR eschewed Rotem in favour of the CAFs - that Rotem didn't offer a 1/3 2/3 door version?
