Default Iarnród Éireann has advised customers of service arrangements on DART, Commuter and R

What's P11's stance on the closing of the line to allow demolition of Lansdowne road old stand over the bank holiday weekend?

LRSDC are not going to compensate train customers who have paid for their tickets and have to transfer to a bus at tara while northern line services will only run to Connolly

DART, Commuter, Rosslare services - August Holiday weekend - Lansdowne Road Stadium development by Corporate Communications

Iarnród Éireann has advised customers of service arrangements on DART, Commuter and Rosslare-Dublin services, to facilitate works required by the Lansdowne Road Stadium redevelopment.

To proceed with the demolition of the West Stand, the effect on services of the Lansdowne Road redevelopment will be limited to two weekends, namely: August Holiday weekend – August 4th, 5th and 6th 2007 October Holiday weekend – October 27th, 28th, 29th 2007

AUGUST WEEKEND SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS

DART: During the August weekend, DART services will be suspended between Connolly and Sydney Parade Stations.

DART services will operate between:

Howth/Malahide – Connolly

Sydney Parade – Bray/Greystones

A full timetable will operate on these sections, with minor timing alterations, and details will be available shortly.

A shuttle bus service will operate between Connolly and Booterstown Stations for customers making cross-city journeys, or travelling from southside stations to the city centre.

Commuter: A full Northern and Maynooth line Commuter service will operate to/from Connolly Station.

Wow those staff at Pearse and Tara must be really worried about being caught up in the Lansdowne demolition.

Is there any legitimate reason why Maynooth and Nortehrn line services cannot run as normal these weekends?

There is no other way of doing it, its going to happen, quite different from the DART upgrade where Irish Rail gave 3 days notice, ignored alternative engineering approaches and badly planned the project works so it took a lot longer than it should have done.

There is good public awareness that the DART line will be closed to allow the works, the new stadium will result in significant reduction in delays and disruption to rail services from matches/concerts. If you have ever spent 20 minutes stuck outside Lansdowne on a train you will greatly appreciate this

Several weeks notice has been given and other works are being undertaken at the same time at Pearse to provide a much needed secondary concourse, that requires Pearse to be closed as well.

The only issues for complaint are
Why are Rosslare services terminating in Greystones
How much money has changed hands from the developers to Irish Rail
