Default Inactive Smart Card Readers at Broombridge

The smart card readers at Broombridge were locked and marked not in service (last there a week ago). What are you supposed to do if you arrive at Broombridge with a smart card and can't tag off?

And will Broombridge ever have a TVM?

I know there have been some vandalism problems in and around the station...

You can ring up the number on the back of the smart card the next day and request an adjustment.

"Some"? Any infrastructure installed there ends to get crowbarred and/or sledgehammered in short order.

There are ongoing issues with Broombridge, the equipment normally lasts about 3 hours before it gets destroyed. It did have working readers for a while but vandalism took its toll.

Believe it or not the system can magically tag on/off people who use Broombridge in the absence of the readers. If you do use Broombridge on a regular basis contact the number on the rear of the card and some magic will occur. You only need to ring the once...

Broombridge did have a ticket office, it was burned out twice. Around the same time the platform surface was lifted brick by brick by some of the less than model citizens of the locality

I don't have a smart card, yet, but was considering how this would be handled. I assumed there was a number you could ring to correct mistakes, similar to LUAS. But that would be annoying to do frequently.

Thank you, it's great to know they can setup an automated work-around for habitual Broombridge users.

Unlike Luas any change to a users credit can be done from head office directly. No need for a stupid cheque to be issued

Not quite the experience of a friend using Broombridge. Had to contact them multiple times to get intial incorrect debit refunded, and now being asked for proof of address before they will issue a *new* card with the "auto-tagoff at Broombridge" flag set on it.
