Agree, The 3 display screens should have arrows on the bottom/top of the displays it is very confusing.. Platform 6+7 arrows pointing down and platform 5 an arrow pointing right. With the new timetable comind up soon they will be changing or adding new times so its just a thought

Isn't that a red herring anyway since all the services to Rosslare are (at least in terms of the trains operating them) commuter services?

Don't give up. Just fight the battles that you can win.

At the minute, there is no difference betwen the train that will bring you to Wicklow, Arklow, Rathdrum and Gorey or Wexford and Enniscorthy.
You can't book a seat (or get a seat or even get on any of the services.) on any of them.

Generally the time of departure sets a train service apart from any other. So the passenger has to know that the train leaving the station they are at, at 5:37 is the commuter train to X.

This occurs in Monaco.
You stand on the pristine marble platform and the abnouncement says the next train is for a,b,c,d,e,f,

I heard Cannes in the list and boarded a TGV insead of a commuter train. If they manage there,,, we can manage here.

It would be nice to hear Intercity on the Rosslare Route for a change rather than the 2800 Commuter train's

Even just for InterCity services and not Commuter would you all agree with that?

Rosslare was never an intercity route and it never will be. The offical designation is 'regional passenger service' and that is what will appear in any description of the service and trains in the event of an accident. The 3 car railcars to be used are to give the correct title the regional railcars, the 6 car is the intercity version

The term intercity will appear nowhere on the platform, on train displays or automatic public address system. All you need is time, destination and platform, simple clear and consistent

Well the new Sligo services from January 08 are all advertised as Intercity, and I assume that they will be operated largely if not entirely by the 3-car 22k units

Waste of time in my opinion calling it an InterCity Route in that case. It has been called InterCity for ever. When there is connections from the UK to Ireland via Fishguard and Fishguard to London on 6hour train journey.........
