Ticket Vending Machines

Has anyone noticed how sensitive the ticket vending machines in Heuston station are? I regularly travel to Portlaoise, and buy my tickets on the day in the station, however unless you give the machine the quickest and lightest tap whilst selecting Portlaoise as your destination, it will automatically select the single ticket option from the next screen. My girlfriend took about 5 mins last Friday to get to the ticket type screen. We are familiar with this problem so know how to get around it, even if it is difficult, but I have regularly seen people who thought that return tickets are not available from the machine, so they cancelled and went to the ticket office.

I haven't noticed this in other stations; however that could just be a quirk of the destination I am selecting, the Portlaoise button just happens to be in the same location as the single ticket button.
