Default Portlaoise: A Regional Issue

This probably belongs in the inter-city forum. The service out of Portlaoise in the afternoons is shocking. A train to Dublin at 3:30 and the next one at 7pm. Is it any wonder that the place is completely car-ridden? How do the government expect to decentralise people to the town (Do they?) if you can't get in and out of the town for meetings?
