Default no heating on 06.30 Dundalk-Bray

I informed staff at Dundalk that there was no heating on train at 6.10am to which the staff member replied 'it is on'. I asked if he could check because the train was freezing. At 6.30am (time of departure) an orange jacket appeared, turned the train off and turned it back on again - but still no heat. At 6.40am we were told to move to another train and finally departed at 6.45am. If the staff member had checked when I reported it we might have actually departed on time

Interesting. I was on the 07:10 Dublin-Galway/Mayo. Coaches A&B were freezing in both on Monday and Wednesday morning. Coach B was 22407 on Wednesday, didn't get the number on Monday.

The 7:10 splits in Athlone. One Monday the ticket checker was helpful, telling people to move into the Galway end of the train for heat, or to coach C which had some heat. There was also some talk of using a spare set from Athlone, as some sort of generator/engine was not working.

Approach on Wednesday was move everyone into B, where there were more passengers so the carriage was slightly less cold.

Heating was working this morning, but sounds like there are 1 or more set of 3 carriage 22000s floating around the Galway line with no heating in this weather. Birrrr

The 1900 Sligo-Connolly yesterday was a 29000 railcar with little or no heating.

No heating on first two carriages. I suspect it's the same set as yesterday reversed. It's currently 4c in this carriage
