Air Spectacular
Tuesday, June 01, 2010

Air Spectacular to reach new heights for centenary 100 years of Irish aviation will be celebrated at Ireland’s largest air spectacular on Sunday, July 25th, as part of Bray Summerfest. Planes at Air Spectacular
Award-winning aerobatic pilots will thrill tens of thousands of spectators, who are expected to line Bray seafont for a bird’s eye view of aerobatic loops, pirouette spins, and nose-down spiral descents.

Bray Town Council and the Simtech organising team are planning a two-hour ‘centenary celebration’ display which will feature aerobatics, search and rescue demonstrations and parachuting from Irish and international acts.

Sé Pardy, the Display Director for Air Spectacular 2010, is promising a fun-filled afternoon of aerial entertainment for families: “Five time Irish Aerobatic Champion Eddie Goggins is guaranteed to put on a daring display again this year with his knife edge rolls, flat spins and corkscrew maneuvers. I’m also looking forward to seeing the Red Bull Matadors, Gerry Humphreys, Angelo Cunningham and the Twister Duo take to the skies in Bray on July 25th.”

As part of An Garda Síochana’s traffic management plan, spectators are strongly advised to arrive in Bray early and to use the DART or other public transport services to Bray. Further information about the Air Spectacular in Bray, which starts at 3:30pm, is available at www.airspectacular.com

It's obviously not a huge deal, but Cobh People's Regatta is on this weekend

http://www.cobhpeoplesregatta.com/

and it will be drawing in a certain number of people from Cork City, especially with the addition of the aerobatics display.

Trains might be full enough over the weekend.

Unfortunately, much of the firework display on Sunday night will have to be watched as the last train pulls out of Cobh station.
