Looks like a complete systems failure in Connolly CTC halted everything, only ever seen this once before

Was that just DART or nationwide failure.

Looks like something in CTC died and halted play

There are only things
1. Loss of the suburban CTC mainframes, there is backup, plus the local signalling can be put into automatic. The 1984 system covers the DART plus the bit to Broombridge+Portmarnock+Bray Head

2. Loss of the OHLE SCADA system, will mandate halt of all electric services until control is returned, likely the power will go off automatically, again there are backups

Looks like a progressive loss of CTC control

Just as it happend the 18.35 can to a stop near the crossing thats beig put into operation after 5 mins we moved and went through crossing with no barriers closed but staff stopping traffic and then done no more than 25mph to Thomstown then back to normaluntil another level crossing problem which resulted in a further crawl for a few miles.

I thought it was something to do with the overhead electrics rather than command and control. The 20:13 Pearse to Drogheda ran close to schedule, but stopping at all the DART stations. About 10 minutes late by the end of its run.

There were no platform announcements while I was at Tara, but I did overhear an onboard PA on a passing DART that mentioned an electrical problem between Connolly and Clontarf.

Can' see that a failure of the OHLE SCADA system would have any effect on the actual power system itself, all that would happen is that the supervisory screens would go blank. No big deal really as the OHLE protectice systems would still operate.

All services indeed appear to have been suspended but there is absolutely no evidence that power was unavailable. The service was wound down in a controlled manner with all DART trains halted at stations.

Seem to have been several additional unrelated DART failures earlier this evening.

Dont think so as there has being no problems since monday at da crossing. This was a sudden stop and mannual barriers are usualy closed as back up to automatc ones. It dosnt explain why the 25mph crawl through two other crossings. We got an announsmentsaying due to signal problems we would be delayed and said sorry for the engoing problems since departure Heuston and we expect clearance shortly. It startrd minutes befuore IE tweeted about the Dart problems.

DART off to a great start this morning - 0540 from Bray running 17 minutes late, expect consequent delays to northern line commuter services as late running 0700 from Malahide interferes with other services.

07.00 from Malahide was canceled.

0630 from Drogheda picked up the displaced DART passengers at Malahide and Portmarnock, made an extra stop at Clongriffin and still arrived early in Connolly. Normally crawls behind the 0700.
