Yep strange eh? Would make sense that if its overhead wires it would be that area but why aren't Greystones/Bray DART affected?

maybe ESB lines being repaired further south - not DART lines? If there was a risk of the line falling I guess it might be wise to shut down the line...

then again it could be just more grassy knoll fodder by Corporate Communications.

We don't know what exactly is going on

It could be work to remove overhead wires at Merrion Gates or to replace corroded wires in the tunnels in Greystones

The two trains being cancelled have nothing to do with the works. Irish Rail's laziness is such that there are two empty trains from Dublin at 4:10 and 4:30 am to Gorey and Arklow

The trains being cancelled are the virtually empty return services of the 16:40 and 17:25 services. So despite Irish Rail's comments they can leave trains overnight in Gorey

The 16:40 and 17:25 will continue to run as normal. Morning services to Dublin should actually be more reliable as a result of this.

Can you trust having a train in Gorey knowing that passer's by on the overhead bridge can see the train at night empty at the station.... Then again if the 18:37 Rosslare train can stay overnight at Rosslare being so close to the road side then Gorey should'nt be a problem..

If the 06:00 train from Gorey leaves Connolly at 4.10am, How long does it take this train to reach Gorey with no stops and with no DART services between Connolly-Greystones..???

I see according to the online IE Timetable tonights 17:25hrs ex Connolly has a destination of Rosslare Europort and not enniscorthy?

In fact its showing this for Monday to Thursday this week.

No mention of this on the PR though?

The 17:25 has to run through to be in Rosslare so there are two train sets there to cover both morning services. Note the Arklow Rosslare service in the morning is cancelled

The normal Enniscorthy Rosslare service is running empty behind it, so no net gain really

Why do they need to cancel the Arklow-Rosslare segment to fix overhead lines?
